Meet Our Executive Director

          As Executive Director of Inspire 1, LaVonda Boyd, is passionate about making a significant impact in the field of education and the lives of those she comes in contact. With a strong academic background and a steadfast commitment to social justice, she is focused on removing barriers and obstacles that hinder students' educational success. Driven by the belief in the transformative power of education, she has made it her mission to help individuals reach their full potential.

          LaVonda earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Simmons College of Kentucky, a master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership & Social Justice from Bellarmine University, and to further enhance her knowledge, she is currently working towards her Ph.D. in Educational Management, with a focus in Higher Education, from Hampton University. Her academic background and prior work experience in higher education provided her with comprehensive knowledge about the complexities of the educational system, the critical need for inclusive and equitable environments, and an understanding of social structures and systems that influence individuals' opportunities and experiences.

          LaVonda is committed to creating programs and activities that cultivate a student-centered and inclusive learning environment, where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. She firmly believes that education should be accessible to all individuals, regardless of socioeconomic background, race, age or any other characteristic. By acknowledging and addressing the unique needs of marginalized students, LaVonda strives to remove the barriers they face and ensure they receive the support necessary to thrive academically and personally. This, she believes, can happen through development of comprehensive programs that address not only academic needs but also intentionally provides holistic support to students, enabling them to overcome challenges and maximize their potential.
